To Those of You Still Reading

Hi.

So, obviously I haven’t been updating very regularly, recently.  That is in part because things have gotten a little busier around here (although still not as busy as I’d like) but more because I’ve finally got back into a regular writing habit.  I’m currently working on a play, something that will in all likelihood be used as part of a grad school portfolio in the fall (and for those of you curious about my grad school ordeal, feel free to send me an e-mail).  And, because I can only afford to dedicate a few hours a day to writing, I’ve been using pretty much all of that time and energy on this other, bigger thing.

Last week was the one year anniversary of the Two Minutes Project.  I’m very happy I made it that far.  And tomorrow, my 300th story will go up, so that seems like a pretty good place to back off for a little while.  That said, I’m not ready to retire TMP forever.  It’s more that I’m going to go on a bit of a hiatus, until I get some things sorted out, and until I feel comfortable enough about my day-to-day writing habits to take on a little extra.  I’ll continue to post stories here, on occasion, if the mood or an idea strikes me.  And I’ll be sure to let you know when I start up again for reals.

Just wanted to thank everyone for reading, and for your support and encouragement.  I wouldn’t have made it a week if you folks hadn’t told me you liked what you saw.  And if you’re interested in reading something longer, please feel free to send me an e-mail or put a comment up on here to that effect.  I don’t finish things all that often, and I’m terrible about going back and making things into workable, readable drafts, but whatever I’ve got you’re welcome to see.

Further Excuses

Hey folks.  I know I owe a couple of stories.  Lots going on here that takes precedence over Two Minutes right now.  I’ll get back to it soon.

But it’s put into perspective that this isn’t an enterprise that I’m going to be able to maintain indefinitely.  My plans, right now, are to finish up a year of these stories, and then probably put everything on hiatus, at least for a little while.  Two Minutes has become the thing I do when I should be working on other, longer-form writing-things, and I need to remedy that.

I’ll keep you posted.

Oh. Hey.

I thought I was a story ahead when I was actually just on schedule.  But it’s Good Friday.  I bet Jesus would forgive me.

Caught Up Again

Whew.  That took longer than I thought it would.

Also, we’ll be coming to the end of what I’ve started thinking of as Cass: Book One.  Obviously, I suck at bringing stories to conclusions, but Cass kinda spiralled out of control on me.  I’ll continue to write her stories, and may go back to writing them on a regular basis again soon, but I figure I should be trying different things, since that was sort of the point of this whole enterprise.

So Cass isn’t done, she just won’t be every other day for a little while.  That’ll probably kick in near the end of this week, or early next.

Uhm, another weekend break, ’cause I have to go back to New York.  (It’s for another school audition.  I wish these disparate international academies would fucking coordinate and pay attention to the detailed schedules and instructions I’ve sent them.)

Start Spreadin’ the News

Hey all, which is to say, my three loyal readers.

Two Minutes is officially on a brief hiatus – I’ll be in New York this weekend, auditioning for schools.  I’ll fill in the missing days (which’ll be today and probably Monday) sometime next week.  Everything should be back on track by Tuesday.

Also, I know there’s been a lot of Cass lately (who I still have to tag properly, actually…).  I figured I’d run with a storyline, see if I can’t bring it to something resembling a conclusion.  Knowing me, that could be ages from now, but I’ll stick to it for another couple of weeks, probably.  If you love Cass, then you’re welcome.  If you hate her, bear with me and I promise we’ll get back to giant robots or something soon.

I’m Not Dead!

… but it was a near thing.

A thousand apologies for the complete lack of updates in the past week.  I got hit with a perfect storm of misfortune to usher in 2009: a heap of grad school applications, a vicious, mutating cold, and… to put it simply, I have a hole in my back.  Like, an honest-to-god hole.  I’ve been in a doctor’s office four times in the past week.  It’s been swell.

I’m going to try to catch up the missed stories, rather than just give up on them.  So, hopefully, lots of stories this week!  And less agony!
